How about that real estate tax relief?
I am growing more sick every time I hear anything about what our government is doing with our money. If a family would budget like they do, we would all be bankrupt! For those of you who do not know what has been happening in PA lately here we go!
1st, lawmakers vote themselves a raise in the middle of the night, resulting in a lot of people being voted OUT or a lot of new people being voted in, however you want to look at it, in the last state election.
2nd, we have Ed Rendell, Governor, who says all these slot machines are going to make us enough money to help with lowering the real estate tax burden on all of us, especially our older residents. News Flash! We need a gaming commision who gets paid TOO MUCH to sit around and decide on all this gaming stuff. One of their perks is up to $650 a month car allowance plus mileage!! Give me a break! If they are making, probably all over $100,000 a year, they can't afford car payments??
And the latest, our own Pittsburgh Penguins were going to move and we had to stop them by paying $7.5 million a year to keep them hear!! What about the money from slots going to tax relief?
From News Story-The city-county Sports & Exhibition Authority will own the new arena, which will be operated by the Penguins, under the terms of the 30-year lease. The state will pay $7.5 million annually from a state economic development fund and slot machine revenues. Click here for entire story.
