Important homeschooling info!
I do not Homeschool, although everyday that goes by makes me think more about it, but I wanted to pass something along that I feel needs looking at. This is an e-mail forwarded to me and I am also giving the link to the petition.
The fact that the government thinks they need to continue to tell us what is best for us and our families just sickens me. Actually it scares me for our future as a country! You can click here to go right to the petition. Thanks for taking the time!!
Here it is...

Andy's letter.........................
Hello everyone, we are sending you this message to inform you of a
recent egregious court ruling that may eventually impact you and to ask
for some simple action on your part. A California Appeals Court has
ruled that parents have no constitutional right to educate their
children. While on the surface you may not think it applies to you if
you don't homeschool your children or because you don't have children, I
encourage you to look at this with a wider view.
This ruling strikes at the very heart of our rights as parents and our
liberties as citizens of the United States of America. A decision such
as this could easily be used as precedent to limit other rights and
freedoms that we enjoy but too often take for granted.possibly even
extending to religious freedoms. This is yet another ruling that erodes
the rights and control that parents have over the education and raising
of their children.there have been many (receiving no press coverage, by
the way) that essentially state that a parent has no voice in what their
child can be taught in public school. The hypocrisy of this movement
belies their true motive. These are the same people who would
vehemently defend a woman's right to choose to kill an unborn child
while at the same time say she is not qualified to choose how to raise
or educate that child. Adolph Hitler once said (and I paraphrase), "We
don't need to win the hearts of the adults, we control their children."
There are eerie parallels between that Fascist line of thinking and what
we are facing today.there is a movement afoot to control the thoughts
and philosophies of our children in this generation and beyond through
both education and the media.
Hitler also said, "How fortunate for leaders that men do not think." It
is time that we not only think but also act. There are two simple
things you can do to help protect and preserve our rights as parents and
citizens:
1. Pray to God that His wisdom and providence shall be restored in this
country. Pray that the rights and freedoms of the people in this
country be protected in accordance with the design of our Founding
Fathers.
2. I would ask you to sign an online petition. In the State of
California, there is a provision for petitions to be presented to their
Supreme Court where this case is now headed. These petitions may
represent the voice of people who not only have a direct stake in the
case in California but by all citizens who have an interest in the
decision at hand. I encourage you to go to the Home School Legal
Defense Association (HSLDA) website where a popup window will lead you
to the petition. You do not need to be an HSLDA member to sign the
petition nor do you need to be a home school family. Please take just a
few minutes to add your name to the list and make your voice be heard to
protect all our freedoms.
